Reality Sucks - Monday 19 September, 2011

The BACHNESS MONSTER put on another EPIC edition of THE LAIR prior to me taking the feed. I am really getting stoked for his BIRTHDAY BASH in November. 

On another night when my usual "charm" attitude was lacking, I still managed to have an awesome show.  I had a great CHATROOM and excellent tunes. An old friend stopped into the CHATOOM which inspired the SLEAZE ROCK you heard during the second hour. Thanks for tuning in, Raider!

• There was a reference to the PMRC during "ON THIS DATE" so I had to play Megadeth's HOOK IN MOUTH. You cannot play a Megadeth track without playing other old school thrash. See the EXODUS and ANTHRAX in the last hour.
• CHEF in the R-10 came in, DRUNK AS FUCK, and requested Slayer.
• JEFF in LO-CAL brings the killer requests always, some of that SLEAZE was his doing.

Reality Sucks Friday 16 September 2011

I started off my radio night experience with a visit to THE LAIR OF THE BACHNESS MONSTER for a snort of bourbon with Bach and JD. Bach was doing a Friday Edition of THE LAIR before they went out to see SUBATOMIC, CARBELLION, and CHAOS REVOLUTION THEORY at Mister Roberts. When I walked into the door of THE LAIR at 4:22 the lettuce aroma was certainly evident. \M/

On to my show. Good chatroom tonight. I kicked off the show with a double-shot of Metallica covers - The Mercyful Fate medley from Garage INC, and Diamond Heads 'The Prince" which was first released as a B-SIDE to "ONE" way back when. The rest of the first hour I showcased some of my favorite local bands, Droids Attack, Romero, and Kill Junior.

I then played a double-shot from the new Anthrax record to kick off hour 2. The new Anthrax is outstanding.  The rest of the show was a kick-ass mix of genres; Doom, Thrash, Stoner, Power, and even a little Prog. \m/

Reality Sucks - Monday 05 September, 2011

Labor Day 2011 REALITY (TV) SUCKS - excellent show. A comrade of mine, Stolley, inadvertently placed a hairspray bug in my ear while I was doing pre-show prep. So my first hour was 80's and 90's hairspray. Good stuff there. Thanks Stolley. Excellent Stoner set to close the show, and then just the usual mayhem with good requests throughout the rest of the show.

Jeff in LA managed to get me to do my Conky impersonation from the Canadian television series "Trailer Park Boys". "What Sucks On Television" cracked me up when I noted that on OXYGEN they were running a show called 'My Male Member is HOTTER than yours" or something along those lines. You can go in several directions with that, which I did. TV sucks. Get over it sheep.

You know you are a professional when you can admit that you had an off night. My rants, comments, and delivery of ENTERTAINMENT VALUE were slightly off tonight. I blame the 3 shots of local anesthesia that I had 4 hours before the show. NOT. Sometimes you have an off night. The tunes made up for it tho.

Excellent show tonight. There was another special edition of THE LAIR with BachnessMonster before me so the THRASH vibe was ON when he turned it over to me at 8PM EDT. I kept that going until my first break when I ran off music history for the date. Jimi Hendrix released "Purple Haze" so I had to play that. There wasn't much pop culture to crack on so I just went with the tunes. Good CHATROOM tonight. Jeff from LA, DOC ROCK, BachnessMonster, and TIMMMAH all hung out for the duration

Reality Sucks - Monday 22 August, 2011

Hello METALHEADS! Another awesome edition of REALITY SUCKS came across the INFERNAL ROCK RADIO feed last night. Good requests, Good Chatroom. BachnessMonster left me with a good amount of listeners, and a bit of a THRASH vibe as he always does. Typically I keep the THRASH going but today I went STONER METAL and played some leftover requested WITCHFINDER GENERAL for CosmicMan666 who is somewhere over the pond in England.

New drops include tracks from polish stoners JD OVERDRIVE - SOUTHELL - and REVOCATION who has a new record out. \M/

Jimmy K stopped into chat to hang out for a bit. Good to see him. Gary also stopped in and hung out until the show was over. Gary is not happy with the PROG element that he heard in the new ANTHRAX track, but was down with ASG and LAST CRACK. Back to Anthrax - the prog isn't overwhelming so I'm OK with it. I'm not a PROG fan for the most part, but a little scoshe of it will not ruin my ANTHRAX experience. If their new record is PROGGIE though I will be disappointed.

The late LAYNE STALEY of Alice in Chains would have been 44 yesterday. I celebrated his birthday with a moment of silence and then played the track "ROOSTER' from their LIVE 2000 release.

Reality Sucks: Saturday Hangover Edition - 20 August 2011

I don't do morning shows very often. I think in my 22 years of being a DJ I have been on the air before 2pm less than 12 times. 2, maybe 3 of those have been while I've been at INFERNAL ROCK RADIO.

Good action in the #IRR Chat Room today. It was nice to have a good turnout from the EU, specifically CHAOS and PAGAN HEL. Excellent tunes today - new drops (for me) today from CONCRETE and RISING DARK. Good requests from Tim in Sun Prarie, BRAINSCAB, and CHAOS. BRAINSCAB ended up taking the feed after I was done. CHAOS did a drive-by as well in the afternoon.

A moment of silence please for Dimebag Darrell as it's his birthday today. \M/ RIP DIME \M/ - we did a moment of silence when I announced his birthday.
